Things Movers Won't Transport  Moving companies should have adequate insurance to cover your goods whilst in transit. Moving companies typically opt for Carriers Insurance also known as Goods In Transit Insurance. The insurance companies have certain requirements, conditions and procedures that moving companies must follow, one of these is what moving companies are not allowed to transport.  This means that if something was to happen to your goods whilst in transit and it is found that the moving company was transporting an excluded item, then the insurance company will reject the claim being made.  As a general rule, if the item is flammable, toxic, hazardous or explosive then it can't be transported by a removalist and would need to be transported by a hazardous goods logistics company such as Ignite Logistics.  The items that insurers don't want movers carrying are as followed: • Paint • Motor Oil • Pool Chemicals • Gas & Air Tanks  • Car Battery's  ...

How to save money on your next move

Removalists typically operate on an hourly rate basis rather than a fixed fee.  When things aren't organised, and packed correctly it makes it a more difficult and lengthy process for the moving company which could result in the moving fee being hundreds of dollars more. In order to save an much money as possible on your move, we recommend the following: 🔹Emptying Cupboards & Draws Draws and cupboards with items in them is dangerous and can cause damage to your items and/or furniture whilst in transit. This can also add time if the removalist needs to wrap or pack those items into boxes.  🔹Packing, Marking & Taping Boxes  In order to save as much time as possible on your moving day, we recommend using boxes designed for moving and correctly packing, marking and taping the boxes.  • Tea Chest Boxes - Cushions, linen, clothes, pots, pans.  • Book Boxes - Books, Glassware, Fragile Items  • Port-A-Robe Boxes - Hanging clothes  Make sure to label ...
